Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released a silver coin of 150 rupees (Silver Coin) on the occasion of Swachh Bharat Diwas 2019. It is a commemorative coin, issued on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Earlier, on December 24, PM Modi released a 100 rupee coin bearing the portrait of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. A coin of 75 rupees has also been issued by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on the 75th anniversary of hoisting the tricolor for the first time at Port Blair.

>> Their value is more than common coins. People who collect coins or common people buy these coins at a price fixed by the Reserve Bank.

>> The premium price of 100 rupees commemorative coin issued in the name of Atal Bihari Vajpayee has been kept at around 3.5 thousand rupees. That is, you have to spend so much to buy this coin. Therefore, these coins are not in common practice.

>> Earlier on December 24, 2018, commemorating the birthday of Atal ji, a commemorative 100 rupee coin was issued in memory of late Vajpayee ji, which was intended to pay tribute to Atal ji.

>> In 1964, a commemorative coin was issued in honor of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of the country.

How to get this coin- If someone wants this coin, then advance booking is required. The Government of India Mint Office in Mumbai and Kolkata of RBI issues special edition coins and commemorative coins.

>> They are under the Securities Printing and Currency Manufacturing Corporation of India Limited. To get these coins, an application has to be made on the corporation's website. Only registered customers can apply for commemorative coins. Anyone can register on the RBI website.
