Approval of agreement between India and foreign broadcasters in the field of radio and television
The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given its approval to the agreement between India and foreign broadcasters in the field of radio and television with retrospective effect. The agreement with foreign broadcasters will help the public broadcaster to explore new approaches, new technologies and in the context of new strategies to meet stiff competition demands, liberalization of news media and globalization.
Broadcasting of programs produced through mutual exchange, co-production will create an atmosphere of equity and inclusion between the audience / listeners of Doordarshan and All India Radio. Technical information, exchange of expertise and training of workers will help public broadcasters to meet the emerging challenges in the field of broadcasting.
