जबकि हर रविवार को ब्रिटिश अधिकारी चर्च जाकर प्रेयर करते थे। करीब 7 साल तक अपने इस अधिकार के लिए मजदूर लगातार मांग करते रहे। तब जाकर 10 जून 1890 को ब्रिटिश सरकार ने आखिरकार रविवार को मजदूरों के लिए छुट्टी का दिन घोषित किया। हालांकि, मुस्लिम देशों में शुक्रवार को छुट्टी दी जाती है।
Why is Sunday only a holiday, this is the reason behind it
When there was British rule in India, the laborers working in the mill did not get a day off, while every Sunday the British officers used to go to church and pray. For almost 7 years, the workers continued to demand for this right. Then on 10 June 1890, the British government finally declared Sunday as a holiday for laborers. However, Fridays are observed in Muslim countries.
