PLACING A STRAIGHT MID-OFF
During the IPL 2010 final, MI needed 55 off 18 balls to win the match. Kieron Pollard smashed 22 runs in the 18th over threatening CSK to take the game away. NEUTRALISING GAYLE STORM

In IPL 2012, CSK posted a score of 187 against MI. Sachin Tendulkar took the first strike and knowing his discomfort against the left-arm spinners, Dhoni gave the new ball to Shadab Jakati. Tendulkar was run out after scoring 11 off 11. CSK won the match by 38 runs.
CHANGING AMBATI RAYUDU DHONI BATTING POSITION
During the IPL 2018 season, Dhoni sent Ambati Rayudu to open the batting for CSK and the right-hander gave brilliant starts to the team Rayudu was moved to No. 4 later in the season to combat spinners. He scored his first T20 hundred against Sunrisers Hyderabad and guided CSK to win another title by finishing with the team's highest run tally of 602 runs.
