1. EL MIRADOR GUATEMALA

El Mirador. (1000 B.C. 250 A.D.) is called by some "The Cradle of Maya Civilization". It was, in its time, the largest city in the Americas.

The pyramid of La Danta is, by volume, the largest structure in the Ancient World. The population of the city at its peak has been placed at around 100,000 inhabitants.

2. SAQSAYWAMAN PERU
Built in the 16th Century, Saqsaywaman is considered the 1st of the new seven wonders of the world.

The Incas called it the House of the Sun and the Spaniards called it a fortress because of its zig-zag shape. The construction, made up of 3 platforms, was one of the most important religious complexes of its time.

3. CHAND BAORI, RAJASTHAN
Chand Baori is a stepwell built by King Chanda in the 9th century.

Located in Abhaneri village of Rajasthan, the stepwell has 3,500 narrow steps arranged in perfect symmetry, which descend 20m to the bottom of the well. It is India's largest and deepest stepwells with 13 floors.

4. LESHAN GIANT BUDDHA, CHINA

One of Buddhism's most remarkable treasures is the Giant Buddha of Leshan, carved out of a hillside in the 8th century and looking down on the confluence of three rivers.

At 71 m high, it is the largest Buddha in the world and represents Buddhist culture and ancient architecture.

5. UNDERGROUND CHURCHES OF LALIBELA, ETHIOPIA
The 11 underground churches, carved out of rock were built in the 13th-century and are situated in a mountainous region in the heart of Ethiopia.

They are connected, using a complex system of drainage ditches, tunnels, and subterranean passageways.

6. THE LOST CITY OF MOHENJO DARO, PAKISTAN

The Ruins at Mohenjo Daro from the 3rd millennium BC, are the best preserved urban settlement in South Asia.

The acropolis, set on high embankment and the lower town, provide evidence of an early system of town planning

7. TEOTIHUACAN, MEXICO

The city of Teotihuacan was built between the 1st & 7th centuries A.D. It is characterized by the vast size of its monuments laid out on geometric and symbolic principles.

As one of the most powerful cultural centres in Mesoamerica, Teotihuacan extended its cultural influence throughout the region.
